How We Rank Phi Phi Hotels
Where the data comes from, how scores are calculated and what to double-check before booking.
Data source
The directory covers 211 places to stay found on Google Maps for “Phi Phi Island hotels”, captured on 16 October 2026. For each property we use the Google rating, number of reviews, star breakdown, listed amenities, star class and the nightly rates shown on Google Hotels by booking sites such as Booking.com, Agoda and Expedia. A few prices were shown in GBP and have been converted to USD at about 1.33.
Review-weighted score
Ratings from a handful of reviews are unreliable, so we rank by a Bayesian average:
score = (n / (n + 150)) × rating + (150 / (n + 150)) × 4.01, where n is the number of reviews and 4.01 is the
review-weighted average rating across the island. A property needs a lot of reviews before its own rating fully counts.
Areas
We assign each property to one of seven areas based on its map coordinates: Tonsai Village, Loh Dalum Bay, Laem Hin Beach, Long Beach (Hat Yao), Rantee & Toh Ko Bays, Loh Bagao & Pak Nam, Laem Tong.
What to double-check
Prices and availability change daily, and amenity lists on Google are not always complete. Confirm transfers, air-conditioning, and whether a room is beachfront or hillside with the property before you pay. We do not take payment for placement and are not affiliated with any hotel listed.
